The Immortals come to the Fading Mists for one reason: so they can travel to the mortal world. The Fading Mists is a defense from mortals getting into the Immortal Kingdom. Yet, the immortals can pass through the Fading Mists and access the mortal realm. Many do so because they wish to speak to the leaders of their creations, or sometimes just to explore the realm known as Earth.
